Triad will be holding a substitute training on February 9. The training is open to first-time Triad substitutes with an IL Professional Educator License, substitute license, or individuals seeking a short-term substitute license. To obtain a short-term substitute license, you must have an associate's degree or have completed at least 60 hours of credit from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. All substitutes with a short-term license employed by the Triad district must attend training before they are able to accept substitute jobs. All first-time substitutes to the Triad district holding a substitute license or a professional educator license should also attend as there are several items specific to Triad on the agenda. The training will cover the following topics: curriculum, classroom management, school safety, district/building operations, technology, and time to review the application process for substitutes. The next training will be held Wednesday, February 9 at Triad’s Central Office: 203 E. Throp St. Troy, IL 62294 from 8:30 – 12:00. Each participant will receive a half-day substitute pay for attending the training after being hired by the Board of Education and substituting at least one day for the Triad school district. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Triad Central Office. Questions can be directed to Amy Van Hoose at amy.vanhoose@tcusd2.org or 667-5400 x1215. Triad Holiday COVID Screening
December 16, 2021 Triad Families, The district has learned of another TikTok challenge that threatens the safety of schools across the United States tomorrow, December 17, 2021. This challenge is NOT specific to any Triad CUSD #2 school, our community, or region. It is a general post, circulating across the country. We are aware of this TikTok challenge and Triad CUSD #2 is keeping in close contact with our partners in law enforcement, and will continue to monitor all threats to the safety and welfare of our students. Again, there is no specific threat towards Triad schools. Even so, we will remain vigilant, continuing to investigate any rumors and/or threats that may arise. If anything develops, we will communicate with our families immediately. Additionally, we need your help in speaking with your student about this TikTok challenge. Ask them not to repost any threatening posts and messages. Please remember, participation in social media threats, on or off school grounds, could result in school discipline and/or criminal charges. Keeping our students safe requires all stakeholders (students, parents, community members, & schools) communicating and cooperating. As always, we encourage stakeholders to communicate with school administration and law enforcement if there is rumor of any suspicious threat to school safety. Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We can only navigate these challenges when we all work together. Respectfully, Mrs. Leigh Lewis Triad CUSD #2 Superintendent

National Special Education Day
Triad Parents: Last night at approximately 1:00 am the Troy Fire Department responded to a fire located at Triad High School in the center median section of the driveway. It has been determined after consulting with the Troy Fire Department that the cause of the fire was not intentional. The School Resource Officer also verified that the smoke appeared on camera at 12:24 am and was not the result of any person’s involvement. Even though the exact cause is undetermined, it is speculated that the mulch and leaves under the landscaping have been smoldering for some time and that the fire ignited due to a combination of the wind and other natural conditions.
