The Triad School District will host a substitute teacher training on Wednesday, January 22, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Triad Central Office, located at 203 E. Throp St., Troy, IL 62294. This training is open to first-time Triad substitutes who hold an Illinois Professional Educator License, Substitute License, or are pursuing a Short-Term Substitute License. To obtain a Short-Term Substitute License, you must have an associate’s degree or have completed at least 60 credit hours from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Please note that you do not need to hold a license to attend the training, as guidance on obtaining a license will be provided during the session. All substitutes employed by the Triad district with a short-term license are required to complete this training before accepting substitute jobs.
The training will cover important topics, including curriculum, classroom management, school safety, district and building operations, technology tools, and a review of the substitute application process. Participants will receive half-day substitute pay for attending the training after they are hired by the Board of Education and substitute teach at least one day in the Triad School District.
